Feasibility Study
What is a Feasibility Study?
A feasibility study could be the first step in your design and construction journey. Its main purpose is to address two overarching questions: What is possible, and is it viable?
The feasibility study serves as a decision-making tool, enabling you to assess the project’s feasibility and viability from multiple perspectives. This influences the project's trajectory and overall potential for success against the key factors that are important to you.
Site Analysis
A thorough site analysis considers location, topography, access and any existing dwellings or structures. Any heritage and natural features are also assessed and identified to provide insight and direction as to the potential design direction.
Regulatory Review
This component ensures the project complies with local planning laws, Rescode and other relevant regulations, helping plan for the approval process and flag any potential mechanisms that may cause delay.
Design Evaluation
By Mysa review and prepare design concept proposals to ensure they meet functional goals outlined in the client brief. Factors such as layout, building form, contextual design and potential materiality are considered. Area schedules, relationship diagrams and initial design concepts can also be prepared.
Financial Assessment
Preliminary calculations estimate project costs and potential returns. This analysis includes preliminary construction costs, consultant fee estimates and basic return projections (if applicable). It also assesses the financial viability of the project against the client's brief, property and design goals.
Sustainability Assessment
In evaluating project sustainability opportunities, this assessment includes investigations into passive solar design principles, solar orientation, water usage, airflow and site drainage.
Risk Analysis
This involves identifying potential risks, including, but not limited to, contentious planning zoning issues, potential latent conditions, difficult property overlays, title and easement encumbrances, neighbouring context reviews, and significant landscaping assessments. All these factors can affect the risk profile associated with your project.
Packages
At By Mysa, we understand that not all projects are the same. You may come to us at different stages of the project, or with varying levels of understanding regarding what you aim to achieve. This is why we offer three feasibility options. Each of these services can act as a standalone item, or can be combined into the next feasibility stage should you wish to explore additional options or gather further information.
If the information provided in the feasibility study gives you enough assurance that the project is viable, By Mysa will provide you with a full-service fee for our Architectural and Interior Design services. If you decide to proceed, the cost of the feasibility study will be deducted from the full-service fee.
Bronze Package
$1,500 + GST

$7,000 + GST
Outcome: To understand what is possible on your site exploring multiple design iterations. This includes an exterior building envelope and internal floorplan design. 3 plans layout options will be provided with one set of revisions.
